Metadata grouping

Description

I would like to be able to group my metadata by some kind of heading.
See the screenshot-1.jpg to understand how we are using the plugin today.

In order to group the information, we are using separators (a,a1,a2,b,b1,b2).
We are also using a "<hr>" html tag as value of our "Headlines"
This looks quite ok, but it would be much easier to maintain with a grouping functionality.
See screenshot-2.jpg to get an idea on how this could be done.

hi michael,

this will be the next 2.2.0 version:

https://aevolu.atlassian.net/builds/browse/JMETA-TRUNK-44/artifact/shared/release/jira-metadata-plugin-2.2.0.jar

unless you find something.

I'll start now with: 1.2.0 for jira 4.2-4.4

Hi Andreas,

I tested the plugin yesterday in our test environment and it seems to work fine with my configuration (internal database).
There is just one little thing I would like to optimize. The size of the input box for grouping is a bit too small compared to the other ones. Therefore the groups are wraped in the edit section (see screenshot).

I will do some further testing today with MS SQL.

Regards
Michael

hi michael,

24 h and four builds later:

https://aevolu.atlassian.net/builds/browse/JMETA-TRUNK-48/artifact/shared/release/jira-metadata-plugin-2.2.0.jar

one of my jira instances fails after exporting and reimporting the active object values via jira 4.4.4. take care if one of your values is longer than 255 characters (I think it should not interfere with your instance)

I've created a new rule: If the text is longer than 255 characters the text will be cut off. Is it ok for your instance?

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

for me 255 is fine, so its not an issue.

Thanks a lot!
