Data Forms View - single value macro - How to display the value of one data forms field on a page

This macro is not available in Data Forms for Confluence Cloud

Sometimes displaying the whole form on a page can be too much. Or maybe you want all the information from the data form but with additional text or images in between or in a different order. Data Form macros can help.

  1. With at least one data form attached to the page click on the Edit button of the page.

  2. Now in edit mode click on the plus button to add a macro and chose Other macros.

  3. A modal will open. Select the search field and type in Data Forms. This will show you the Data Forms macros.

  4. A faster way to add one of the Data Forms macros is to type {Data into the editor of the page. This will open a drop down list with the Data Forms macros.

  5. Click on the Data Forms View - single value macro.

  6. Chose an attached data form from the drop down list under Attachment. Under Field pick the field whose value you want to show on the page.

  7. Clicking on the Preview button will give you a preview of the value if there is a value set for the field you picked. Click on Insert to add the macro to the page.

  8. The Data Forms macro is now added to the page. Don’t forget to save the page.

  9. After saving the data form will be displayed on the page. (Note that if there is no value set for the chosen field nothin will be displayed until a value is set.)

  10. If someone sets a new value for the chosen field in the data form, the macro will be updated as well.
