How-to hide a field

How-to hide a field

This feature requires Issue Forms for Confluence version 2.0 or higher

From time to time it might be necessary for you to predefine the value of a field and not allow the user to change it when creating an issue. If this is the case you can predefine the value of one field or more and hide it. The specified value is then transferred directly when the Jira issue is created.

For example: The reporter field should be prefilled with the current user (using the currentUser() function as "Default user"). You can set this up in the Issue Forms - field-macro. In order to keep the Create Form short and tidy you can then hide the Reporter field for the users.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open the page in edit mode and click Edit on the Issue Forms - field-macro (within an Issue Forms - create form-macro) you want to hide.

  2. Specify a default value of the field and select Hide field.
  3. Save the page. The field will be hidden.

You should always provide a default value if you want to hide the field
