How to define a Calendar and the working hours per day

A calendar is an important part of any SLA. It is needed to calculate due dates and set the status of items outside office hours.

In a calendar you can define a timezone, add a collection of days off, define working days during the week and working hours during the day.

It can be usefull to define different calendars for different sets of customers, for different office locations or for different teams.

  2. A modal opens. Set an id and a name for your calendar.

  3. Pick a timezone and a collection of days off. (Here you find information on how to define collections of days off.)

  4. Add a description for your calender if you like.

  5. Click Create.

  6. The new calendar has been created. You can see the name of the new calendar in the sidebar on the left and the details of the calendar on the right.

Add working hours

Per default the working hours of the new calendar are from monday through friday 24 hours per day.

  1. To change the working hours of a day you must first delete the 24 hour work shift. (Because it is not possible to define overlapping shifts.)

  2. To delete a shift click on the trash can icon at the end of its row.

  3. Now click on Add working hours.

  4. A modal opens. Add the start and end of the shift. E.g. 8:00 as the start and 12:00 as the end.

  5. Click Create. The new shift is now shown for this working day. As is the duration of that shift.

  6. Add as many shifts as you like for each day. Note that shifts must not overlap.

  7. Make sure that days where you are not working do not contain any working hours.

  8. If you have added all working hours to your calendar click Save.

Delete a calendar

  1. In order to delete a whole calendar click the Delete calendar button at the top right corner.

  2. A modal opens for you to confirm.

Note that you can only delete calendars that are not in use in any SLA. If the calendar is used anywhere the modal will tell you where it is used but will not let you delete the calendar.
